How (and why) to become a Digital Revolution Awards judge

Our judging panel is already packed with exceptional leaders from all across the cloud tech space, but we always have room for more!

When it comes to discussing outstanding performances from our industry and celebrating the cream of the cloud crop, the more the merrier. Interested in joining our panel of independent expert judges? Here’s what you need to know.

Why be part of the Digital Revolution Awards?

Encouraging the next generation of cloud superstars

Behind almost every tech ecosystem is a critical skills shortage that’s ready to turn into a crisis. Despite that, barriers to entry for some demographics remain in place, potentially putting people off a career in technology.

By celebrating those equality difference-makers in our industry, our goal is to encourage others to follow suit at all levels, from entry-level to leadership. The more people who see the cloud as an open and inclusive place to work, the quicker we’ll address the skills shortage facing our industry.

Celebrating and championing diversity and inclusion isn’t just the right thing to do from a business perspective, though—it’s simply the right thing to do as humans.

Invaluable networking opportunities

As part of our judging panel, you’ll work alongside global business leaders with experience with some of the world’s biggest cloud brands, leaders in the cloud talent creation space, and more.

Joining the panel is an excellent opportunity to connect with key decision-makers and discuss future partnership opportunities outside the Digital Revolution Awards. On top of that, whether it’s for you or your business, all judges will receive a free ad in our digital program, as well as content on the Digital Revolution Awards social media channels.

Your name will also be featured on our website, our ceremony presentation (which was watched live by over 1,500 people last year), and we’ll include a short video from you to share your story.

Promoting ED&I in tech

The Digital Revolution Awards recognizes the importance of ED&I to the success and sustainability of the cloud ecosystem.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to promote ED&I in our industry by highlighting outstanding performances by celebrating the pioneers, the innovators, and shining a light on different ways of thinking.

We understand that representation matters, and we are dedicated to increasing the visibility of cloud technology professionals from all backgrounds and offering a platform on which to celebrate those who are too often marginalized in the tech space.

Our categories are deliberately designed to showcase the work being done in the ED&I space with the hope that it will inspire and empower others to do the same.

Our judging panel provides a space for brilliant, diverse minds from across the cloud community to come together and discuss, explore, and commend excellence from all corners of the world.

What do our judges do?

Once nominations close, our judges will get together for our virtual Judges' Roundtable in November to discuss the submissions and decide on shortlists for each category.

Then, on 25 February, 2022 our judges will be guests of honor at either our virtual award ceremony or at one of our global in-person watch-a-long parties alongside sponsors, nominees, and fellow judges!

Giving something back

The Digital Revolution Awards isn’t just about celebrating the work of today’s cloud pioneers. We believe that it’s just as essential to help pave the way for the next generation of tech talent.

That’s why we’re also using the event to help raise funds to support our global charity of the year, St Martin’s School, so they can continue their outstanding work empowering students in Kenya to build their futures.

Located in Kibagare, one of the poorest slums in Nairobi, the school provides a safe environment where children can play, learn, and receive regular meals, allowing them to excel. This year, the Digital Revolution Awards is helping St Martin’s raise funds to build a secondary school for local boys.

Extensive PR and social media reach

Our dedicated PR and Outreach team has a robust network of contacts ready and waiting to share the news about our awards and our judges. In addition, we’ll be launching press packs to announce our judging panel and working with our industry contacts to share the news far and wide for maximum exposure.

Plus, our Digital Revolution Awards social channels have almost 15,000 followers combined. We’ll be cross-promoting the awards across the social media channels of our sister brands, sponsors, and partners, which have a combined following of over 338,000 and an average monthly reach of more than 230,000 on posts.

Last year we reached over 60,000 people on our social channels and achieved over 2,500 engagements and 175,000 impressions. That’s a massive active audience who are listening to our ‘Tech for Good’ message.
